Mike Tomlin and his Pittsburgh Steelers are reeling from back-to-back 8-8 seasons in which each ended without a trip to the playoffs. By the end of last season it was obvious that Warren Sapp may have been right when he called the Steelers old and slow. Fast forward through the offseason and draft and into the preseason and the Steelers turnaround of the roster from slow and old, too fast and young is impressive. So impressive that they are once again conceded contenders by those in the NFL know.
The expectations are high from both the fans and the team. What are the betting expectations for the Steelers this season; click here on the greatest NFL lines. Many have picked the Steelers to win the AFC North and again possibly contend for a Super Bowl or at least go on a deep playoff run.
Why are the expectations so high? The answer is easy, the addition of some very talented free agents, like FS Mike Mitchell and HB LeGarrett Blount and a rookie draft class full of speed and potential. Rookies like 1st round pick, Ryan Shazier, the fastest LB clocked at the NFL combine. 3rd rounder HB/WR/KR/PR Dri Archer, one of the fastest and most versatile players clocked at the combine. Stephon Tuitt, a 2nd round DE with great upside and 4th round pick Martavis Bryant, who is the tall and speedy WR Big Ben has been lobbying for over the past few seasons.
With a roster injection full of youth, speed and talent the sky is the limit for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014. Barring any major injuries, we expect the team to finish no less than 11-5 and win the AFC North. This team also has the potential for a deep run into the playoffs and should be considered at the top of the list of contenders with the Broncos and Patriots to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
Tomlin has a great coaching staff at his disposal and some talented players to coach. His brash coaching style will only help this team reach their goals or come very close and by doing so, he should be in consideration for coach of the year by seasons end if everything goes according to plan.

What Pittsburgh Eats is Sausage - stacked with peppers, onions and sauce, on a great Mancini's Italian sausage bun. When the sauce starts to drip down your chin, the bun can work as a sponge so you don't lose a drop! The amounts of the sausage and spices can be adjusted to suit individual taste.
