Le’Veon Bell Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell came into last Sunday’s game against the Bills on a streak of three straight games with at least 100 rushing yards.

That was just a warmup for what he had in store for Buffalo, however. Bell set records for both the most rushing yards in a game by a Steeler and the most rushing yards in a single game by a Bills opponent in a 27-20 Pittsburgh victory.

Bell ran 38 times for 236 yards and three touchdowns to pace the offense on a day that saw Ben Roethlisberger throw three interceptions. Bell also caught four passes for 62 yards and the overall effort was enough for the league to choose him as the AFC offensive player of the week.

It’s the second time that Bell has taken the weekly honors and the effort leaves him with 933 total yards over the last five games. The Steelers have won four of those contests, which has them in first place in the AFC North with three games left in the regular season.
