- Updated: March 3, 2012
Steelers Cutt Ties with Kemoeatu
The Steelers have informed Chris Kemoeatu that they plan to release him of his contract prior to March 13, the start of the 2012 NFL year. Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert told the team’s website. “We appreciate all of his efforts in his seven years with the team and wish him the best in his career.”
Kemoeatu was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Utah. He played in 74 career games for Pittsburgh with 53 starts, including eight in 2011. Kemoeatu started all 16 games once (2008) in his seven seasons and made seven postseason starts, including Super Bowls XLIII and XLV.
