Suisham AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
- Updated: October 10, 2012
Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham was recognized for his clutch performance versus the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5 by being named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
This marks the second time Suisham has been named Special Teams Player of the Week and first since being named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week while playing for the Washington Redskins in Week 9 of the 2007 season.
Suisham was a perfect 3-for-3 (20, 34, 34) on field goals in the 16-14 victory over the Eagles. His final field goal of the afternoon was a game-winning 34-yarder as time expired. It marked the fifth game-winning field goal of his career and first since 9/25/11 at Indianapolis.
Now 8-for-8 on field goals this season, this marks the second time in Suisham’s career that he started a season making his first eight field goals (13-for-13 in ’09). Suisham also connected on his only PAT against the Eagles, extending his personal best of consecutive PATs made to 85.
