Steelers Acquire RB Felix Jones

Steelers acquired RB Felix Jones from the Eagles in exchange for LB Adrian Robinson.

Adam Caplan is reporting the Steelers have traded the once promising second-year outside linebacker Adrian Robinson to the Eagles for running back Felix Jones.

This news comes at a good time for Steeler fans. With the foot injury to Le’Veon Bell and a dispute as to how long he will be sidelined and the exact severity of the injury. The Steelers acquire the once heralded HB from Arkansas in exchange for the once promising Robinson who has recently fallen out of favor with the coaching staff in Pittsburgh.

Jones, a sixth-year pro from Arkansas, spent the first five years of his career with the Cowboys. He signed with the Eagles this offseason.

Incidentally, Jones was selected by the Cowboys one spot after the Steelers drafted Rashard Mendenhall, with the 22nd overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. Just like Dallas with Jones, the Steelers opted to not resign Mendenhall this past off season.

We will offer more details as they follow.
