Steelers Kick the Tires on Former Saints CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste

The Steelers have continued to try to improve its secondary, working out former Saints cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste on Wednesday.

Jean-Baptiste, the Saints’ second round pick back in the 2014 NFL Draft, had a tryout in Pittsburgh after being cut from the Lions’ practice squad earlier in the week.

After playing in four games as a rookie, Jean-Baptiste has yet to play in a regular season game in 2015. The 6-3, 220-pound Jean-Baptiste enjoyed a solid collegiate career at Nebraska that saw him breakup 25 passes while intercepting four more and returning one for a score during his three seasons with the Cornhuskers.

While the Steelers are sixth in the NFL with 14 interceptions, the secondary continues to give up a slew of yards through the air. Pittsburgh’s defense is currently 31st in the league against the pass, allowing an average of 279 passing yards a game, heading into its Week 15 showdown with the Broncos.
