Up and coming Pittsburgh matches you shouldn’t miss

Pittsburgh is a veritable paradise for sports lovers, with three teams competing at the highest possible level. You’ve got the Pittsburgh Steelers – the city’s NFL team, the wonderfully-named Pittsburgh Penguins – the ice hockey team, and of course the Pittsburgh Pirates – the city’s fantastic baseball team, add a great soccer team to the mix and you can see why sports fans love Pittsburgh. With so many sporting fixtures clogging up your calendar, how do you know what to tune into? Today, we’re taking a look at the up and coming Pittsburgh sports matches you shouldn’t miss, so that you can enjoy backing your favourite players over on Caesars Casino & Sports if you are located within the state of NJ.

Pittsburgh Pirates

Currently, we’re in the midst of the MLB baseball season, which means there’s a Pirates match every week. While the Pirates aren’t top of the league after finishing fourth in their division last year, behind the Cubs, the Brewers and the Cards – they still managed to win 82 games, meaning they shouldn’t be discounted for the season. These guys are serious contenders. The biggest games coming up see the Pirates face off with the Tigers on June 18-19, the Padres on June 21-23 and the Astros from June 25-27. July is also an exciting (and important) month for the Pirates with fixtures against the Cubs (1-5), the Brewers (5-7), the Cubs (12-14), the Cardinals (15-17 and 22-25), the Mets (26-28) and the Reds (29-31). That’s a whole lotta ball games for you to look forward to!

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pre-season kicks off for the Steelers on August 10 when they’ll be taking on the might of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On August 18, they’ll be battling the Kansas City Chiefs, followed by the Tennessee Titans on August 26 and the Carolina Panthers on August 30. After that, we’re straight into the season, with exciting fixture after exciting fixture for you to enjoy. The Steelers are kicking off the season against reigning champions, the New England Patriots on September 9 at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds

If you’re partial to a spot of soccer, you will want to tune in to what the Riverhounds are up to this summer. The club play in the Eastern Conference of the USL Championship, which is the second rung on the ladder in competitive soccer. In June, the Riverhounds are taking on the New York Red Bulls II and Birmingham Legion FC at home at Pittsburgh’s Highmark Stadium. In July, you can back the Riverhounds against Bethlehem Steel (July 4), Charlotte Independence (July 7), Tampa Bay Rowdies (July 13), North Carolina FC (July 20) and Hartford Athletic (July 27).

Pittsburgh Penguins

As for all you Penguins’ fans, you will have to wait until October for the ice hockey action to kick off. One things for sure though, it’s going to be an exciting season!
