Is Le’Veon Bell The Best Fantasy Football Running Back in 2015?

Pittsburgh Has Designed Their Offense to Utilize Le’Veon Bell Quite a Bit

It was a tough 2014 season for the top running backs in fantasy football. Adrian Peterson, LeSean McCoy and Jamaal Charles all failed to reach expectations for different reasons last year. The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping that the curse is over in 2015. Many people are ranking their star running back Le’Veon Bell as the best in the game going into the upcoming year. The question is, can he live up to expectations?

The biggest dilemma for anyone considering Bell is the fact that he is facing a three game suspension as of right now to start the year. There is a chance of an appeal, but before also looking at it as possible motivation. He is very upset that he is letting Pittsburgh down, and he will be returning with new focus.

Pittsburgh has designed their offense to utilize Bell quite a bit. Even though they have a pretty good passing attack, he also gets involved quite a bit. He did catch 83 passes last year from Ben Roethlisberger, so that helps with fantasy football production.

Durability is a major concern for anyone investing in a running back early on in fantasy football. Bell has been able to stay healthy so far in his career, and he has the body to take hits. He is also still pretty young, starting 2015 in the prime of a running back’s career.

There is some risk involved with taking Bell as the top NFL running back in fantasy football, but the same can be said for any other candidate. Pittsburgh plans on utilizing him a lot this season, so more than likely, his numbers are going to be consistent on a weekly basis. That is, once he is officially cleared to play after suspension.
